Hey all,
How do you gents identify speedo-friendly beaches local to you? I'm here in Mass.

I just Google “beach”. Then I go in my speedos.

I also live in MA and pretty much any beach here is "speedo friendly"

I've never been to a Speedo 'un-friendly' beach. Unless you being the only one means it's not friendly.

I agree every beach is speedo friendly but if you are referring to a microsuit or thong as a speedo that is a different story. I usually do online searches, read reviews, and for my first visit where a bikini and keep the smaller suits in my beach bag until I see the vibe. I hate to stereo type but “gay friendly” usually means more tolerant and fewer “soccer moms“ with children.

Hey all,
Yeah, I guess my question should have been what are some beaches outside of P town where I am more likely to not be the only dude rocking a speedo, lol.

That’s a harder question to answer. You can search for thong friendly beaches and know that a “speedo” would be blasé.
Or you can be the trend setter!
I honestly believe the attitude or stigma of swim briefs would disappear it guys would get over their hang ups and try them. 30 plus years ago I wore my first swim brief at Fort Desoto, purchased from Walmart. Instant addiction, I have never wanted to wear any else....well that’s not true, I don’t want to wear even that much ;-)

What I’ve always done is before I go, I check to make sure wearing a thong is not illegal, if not I wear one. That simple.

How exactly do you check this?

City, county or state laws. Depending on the beach.

They have laws like that? No such laws in Britain. It's just shyness that stops people wearing them.

Lol, In the US there are all kinds of laws pertaining to nudity or even partial nudity. It’s freaking ridiculous really. Too many people worried about their kids seeing somebody’s butt. I think it has more to do with fat people afraid their spouse or significant other might see something they like better. People over here need to learn to be more acceptable or stay the hell in their own little bubble.

Its definitely a source of anxiety since the laws are often (invariably) obtusely worded and selectively enforced. Even within the same city it can vary. For example, nudity requires a permit within San Francisco but some of the parks are administered by the park service and thus activity there is not subject to local ordinance. This is why i asked about how to check with local laws since it is always a tricky bit of research to find exactly what laws apply where you are going.
Thank you to the Park Service for allowing natural enjoyment of natural places!

I assume by speedo friendly you mean a beach where there are other guys wearing speedos. I've worn my speedo at a few beaches in MA that aren't your typical gay beaches and have never had a problem. I usually don't see other guys wearing them, but there always has to be the first guy to drop their shorts and that would probably be me. Besides, if everyone wore a speedo, I don't think it would be as much fun to wear one.

I guess your confidence in wearing them is what you need to be most concerned with. People honestly don’t care that much from all my years of going to the beach. Just own it.

There are some public beaches that don't encourage men to wear a thong on the beach. I just like wearing extra snug, well fitting Speedo swim briefs and if I wore a thong, it would be in private and under cover of outer clothes or shorts. I do like the feel and comfort being in Speedo style swim briefs and rather be wearing them, rather than a men's skimpy thong on a public beach.

Since my swimsuit collection is only briefs and a few squarecuts, every beach or lake is a “speedo friendly” beach. Honestly, I am many times the only guy in a brief cut suit. I am fine with that.

I swim laps at my gym and when I travel and always wear a Speedo style swim brief. Absolutely acceptable everywhere. While some men swimming laps wear jammers or trunks, few do. I don’t know about beaches but when I boat at a lake house I wear trunks. It is just a matter of attire choice in different situations. If you like briefs, swim laps!

There a lot of beaches, at least on the U.S. east coast, where not many men wear speedo swimsuits. I like wearing Speedo style swim suits (brief style) that cover up my male lowers and allowing for a normal male reaction, like a nice erection in them from the feel of the sexy smooth material and snug fit. If a guy is in decent shape, feeling very comfortable and looks good in them, then he should wear a pair of nice swim briefs. I wouldn't worry if a swim club or beach is speedo friendly or not. Just enjoy wearing them with the soft snug and light feeling in speedos.

I don't think there's any speedo-unfriendly beach on earth. You just need to show up in your speedo with confidence, and that is it.
If someone chose to confront you, you just needed to tell them speedo is a legit swimming attire.
End of story. Don't over think it! :)

I see no reason why you shouldn't wear Speedos anywhere. I usually
wear less, but in school holidays I avoid obvious family beaches. Although I'm not gay, I look for gay friendly beaches because I know they won't mind those gorgeous g-strings with spaghetti around the sides and back. I've got a nice derriere and don't mind showing it off!
At my local indoor pool (a hotel leisure club which is adults only) I wear half back Speedo type swimsuits.
