Hi all, does anyone know if it's okay to wear Speedo briefs at Knott's Soak City in Buena Park? My friend and I are going and we wear speedos with one inch sides designed for swimming laps. The park policy I'd vague. Will we get turned away or asked to change?

Don't know. Never been there.
I have worn speedos to Disney water parks and Atlantis.
No problem at Disney, With the substantial international attendance, speedos are in the mix. Ever ordered and ate lunch in one.
I was told by one lifeguard that they were not allowed, but I could stay but wear another suit the next time. Wore it the rest of that day and the next and no other comments were made. While I don't remember seeing anyone else in one on the sildes, they were fairly common at the pools, and some men, including me, were even wearing them without additional cover at the outdoor food court.
I would say try it but have a backup suit in your bag just in case.

Hey Derek, I don't think you would have any issues if you wore a typical swim brief with two inch or larger sides. I have worn two inch side briefs to water parks, no one said anything. Like most parks, the ones I went to you stayed in your swimsuit the whole time, meaning to eat, shop and, of course, the rides and slides. My only advice is be careful on slides, the seams of the slides, if not well put together, can destroy your suit easily. Don't wear a suit you would be really sad to lose.
Have fun!

Just to clarify, the paragraph beginning "I was told by one lifeguard..." referred to Atlantis.
Also should note that I find the slides more enjoyable in a speedo without the excess material around my legs.

Slides can ruin any kind of suit. I had brought one moderate pair of swim shorts in addition to 2 speedo solars to Atlantis, but I ripped one of the side seams all the way to the waistband my first time down the slide, giving me no option except the speedos (or buying a overpriced suit in at the resort) for the rest of the trip,

I agree on any suit. Thus my point don't bring a true favorite. That said, Lycra suits are very sensitive to getting pics and pulls.

Thanks all. I was curious because I know every water park is different. Some outright prohibit speedos, others are unpredictable in their policy, and others don't care if you wear one.
Any sense of where the water parks in southern (and noethern) California stand on this? I'd like to avoid an unfriendly water park if possible.

Back in the early 1980's Knotts Berry Farm actually sold Speedos within their gift shop. My wife liked the soft feel of the material on a yellow one with a 1.5" side and so I purchased it and wore it to the public pools up in the San Francisco Bay area. I never had any issues back then with wearing it at any of the California water parks, or even one of my tiniest bikini bottoms.
