I guess I have to say I don't really know what it means. Does it mean: You would get tossed off if you wore them at a beach or pool,or that you would be apt to be the only one in speedos and might get bullied or that there might be a few out of the majority wearing them or that the vast majority are: Here in Vermont we have few pools (indoor) and not huge beaches.Virtually all pool swimmers are serious in their workouts usually following a schedule of workout swimming. Only one high school in the state has a pool and there is no competition on that level. None of the colleges have decent sized pools except Middlebury. In other words a young guy is probably not going to even have an idea of what swimware to use because he doesn't need one. May girls, however, are swimming in pools. I guess many males do not consider it to be a "manly" enough sport which is stupid. All girls that I swim with wear fairly abbreviated suits which is great. I sail on Lake Champlain(on 1/2 mile from my home) I wear cargo shorts and tevas and usually a biking long sleeved jersey-back pockets are handy for tools etc. I do have to be carefull of the sun. Also my ass tends to sweat and I wear the cargos commando to help keep it cool. Great site to see Canadians boating sometimes in the buff and if suited both mean and women are in very brief wear. I work at the marina and must say that it seems somewhat out of place if a customer (M ot F) comes assure to walk to the store etc. in very brief attire. (long winded eh)

The Speedo/Mensswimsuit Board isn't the only one that seemed to lose interest when it changed over to the new format.
I remember the old Speedo Fantasy board had at least 10 new posts with replies a day, but this one seems to be rather dullsville. I don't believe it's due to lack of interest in the subject matter however.
There are several other boards (mostly related to industrial/technology issues not related to anything erotic or sexual) that seemed to become deserted after the change.

I have to say, while the post count may be down, the quality is way up. I was bored to tears of the posts about whether it was OK to wear a "speedo" at a beach, pool or otherwise. Those posts took up most of the old board. And then the bashing took up the rest. Love the new board... deeper posts and no more bashing, so far! I hope we never go back! :)

Chiming in to agree with SwimTeamSpeedo. Hated those "ooh, is it OK to wear a Speedo at _______?" type messages. I mean, come on!
Anybody who manages to get up in the morning and get dressed without assistance can probably figure out that wearing a Speedo to a job interview or flying on an airplane is a certifiably bad idea. But whether you have the cojones to be the only one wearing a Speedo at a hotel pool or Mexican beach is something only you can answer.
Speedos are required equipment for lap swimmers and appropriate attire for any guy for hanging out at any pool or beach. If you let somebody else scare you into covering up because of their moralistic personal beliefs, or what some snickering magazine article says, just pull on your dork shorts and leave me alone.

They used to build the flying boats that did the mail run down to India and eventually to Australia down by the river from here.
One of the pilots was known to have flown the planes stark naked over Africa. with a plane full of mail and first class passengers. For him flying an aeroplane in speedos would not have been excessive.

An so we have established there is always an exception to the general rule. Even in the "Speedo friendly" places like Australia, guys in small, tight, dare I say skimpy, suits are the exception. I won't be flying my next plane in a speedo (or naked), although it would be fun. But, I am perfectly happy being the lone "Speedo" guy on the beach. :D

:) LOL - these were C Class flying boats, so called because each in the fleet was given a name beginning with letter C. If this pilot always preferred to fly Cozzie or Cock it must have raised a few smiles on touchdown in Oz (and even better if the guy's name was Richard).

The original swimming in Rochester, Kent, England was off a raft in the River Medway, close to the factory where the flying boats were built. It was replaced by a nearby indoor pool and later by an outdoor pool beside the river. You could hear and possibly watch aircraft taking off on the river, while swimming in the outdoor pool.
No one swims near the bridge any more, although I have swam, in speedos further upstream above the first lock.
