Really liking the black Speedo Endurance lately for fit and durability. For fit and design/pattern/colors I like Dolphins best by far but if they aren't Chloroban they fall apart rapidly. Sporti is okay overall. Remember I swim in them, no posing, lol. A criteria not asked to rate was satisfaction with price. Hey the Speedo I've worn for months was ten bucks on the clearance rack. Beat that! Usually anything on sale at swimoutlet is a bargain.

Now here is a new question, what brand are the best fitting brief swimwear.
I like my Adidas and my Neptune Scepter suits for fit. Aussiebums have a unique fit, and sometimes I feel like it's not snug enough in the bum.

I would have to say that my favorite brand is Sporti with Nike being a close second. Ever since Speedo changed the construction and fabric of the 1" Solar, I haven't liked Speedos and would likely not buy one in the future. As far as dit is concerned, I love the fit of the Sportis and the 2" Tyrs.

Turbo hands down. I've worn these suits for work and pleasure and they just last for ever. Great modest cut, lower rise, tough fabric and really cool designs.
I switch out for other brands to get a smaller cut or more revealing but always go back to turbo.

from the beginning, i liked speedo brand swim briefs. They just feel nicer.
I guess N2N is my next favorite brand; their cuts seem to flatter my peculiar build the best.
And for aesthetics, aussiebum; everything stays where it's supposed to. :p

I mostly just wear and shop for Speedo brand briefs. I love the way they feel and there's also to actually wearing the brand that has come synonymous with the style of suit. Purple is my favorite color so I've been trying to find purple Speedos with no luck, so I got a Sporti brand purple brief. I like the Sporti just fine, the price was great and I like that it cuts up a little higher on the thighs, but I wish the color was more vibrant. I just ordered by first Aussie Bum (the superhero print) and I'm waiting for it; I'm a little nervous because I think it might be thinner and smaller than what I'm used to but also that's what makes it exciting.
I also like prints and colors, I'm starting to get more into those as opposed to solids and stripe designs.

Thanks for posting the wonderful photos. I have never seen MateGear suits outdoors, you look wonderful in them. What size do you typically order in normal suits and what size in MateGeat? I want to get some.
Beautiful photos of boating. Where is that?
Any photos with you and your wife while you are wearing your brief suits? Need ammunition for convincing my wife it is OK and looks good

Thanks for the compliments, Bikiniman! I've never seen the MATEgear look either. I just ran across their site this past winter and bought the g-string in these pics and 1 bikini before we went to Hedo. My wife thought the bikini with its ultra-low back looked weird, so after Hedo, I just started tanning in it to give the looooooooooow tanline down my ass. Now, I like the look and am going to be wearing it this summer.
Our boat is slipped on Lake Michigan. Love the freedom of the open water! We were just up there this past weekend and got some sun time on one of our favorite beaches where minimal swimwear is completely accepted. We did take some pics of each other that I'll be posting soon.

I like Speedo and TYR suits for swimming, but for sunning I like the slightly smaller suits from Turbo or Monsterpolo - they are water polo suits, but have a lower cut which looks hot, in my opinion.

I have favorites for suits I swim in and for suits I hang out in. For swimming, I will always like Speedo, it is the brand I first started wearing way back. As Swimmboy says, they are my standby swim workout suit. I really like the bold prints of Turbo and some of the other polo oriented brands. Hard Core Swim has some cool stuff. For hanging out by the lake or an evening boat ride I love Funky Trunks traditional square cut.

speedo brand is probably what I own the most of, I find they give a good snug fit and aren't low-riding at the front - I hate that.
But for good designs, you can't go past a couple of aussie brands you can buy online: FunkyTrunks and Budgy Smuggler.
Funky Trunks have a wider range now in the "high-cut square cuts" variety but still stock a few of the classic brief, and their designs are refreshed very regularly. They fit well and are very comfortable. And damned good to look at too!
Budgy smugglers have probably the best range currently of colourful and different designs, and are designed to be eyecatching. Love most of their designs, although they wear a bit looser than other swim briefs.

After spending a few hours on the beach in an Aussiebum for the first time, I gotta say that I really like those suits. I still own way more Speedos, but I like how snug but thin Aussiebums are. I also like that even the fuller, 2.5" side suits still sit lower on the hips. They're really comfortable and somehow have the thrill of feeling revealing without actually being revealing.

Me either, which is why I always check the Sheer Level on all the Aussie Bum descriptions. They're on a scale of 1-10 and I think that up to 4 or so, which is what I have, they're not see through.

Many white fabrics go transparent when wet. If you buy a white speedo or bikini you should test it in the shower before going to the beach. Now you know just how transparent it is. From a distance a wet transparent white swim suit just looks like a white swim suit, walking to the sea won't be an issue but once you get wet ensure that those close around you are friends who will appreciate seeing all of your body. Then after your swim you will have to walk back up the beach to where your stuff is, it is probably best if you chose a quiet beach.

Way too much exposure for me. Especially if the AB is a Wonderjock your whole package is pushed forward and is completely visible. Definitely not for the faint of heart.

if you are going to have a totally transparent suit, why not just go nude? More comfortable and cheaper.

Right now i like CA-RIO-CA, their classic fit swim briefs. They have lots of styles, from the bikini cut, their skimpiest, to a drag suit looking style, and the classic style has not quite 3" sides (size small) and gives me a great fitting pouch, nice eye catching bulge, and keeps the goods in place. The material is a really nice quality. I have them in red and light blue. They have a thin front liner, and the light blue is a bit see-thru when wet, especially in the bum. I swim laps everyday, and have been wearing them often and they hold-up really well. Highly recommend. My next go-to suits are older Nike briefs. Ive had them for a long time, and althought they are a bit stretched out in the front amd bum, they still fit nicely and offer a sexy bulge. My oldest swim brief i got in mexico, cant recall the brand, it definitely has seen better days, but i will wear it once in a while. It was a dark blue, now its shades of blue and purple, nearly see-thru in the front and bum. But i cant get rid of it, too many fond memories.

Each swimwear brand imagines the perfect man in each waist size of their swim briefs. If you match the build of the imaginary perfect swimmer in your waist size of a given brand then it will fit you perfectly.
If your body does not match the imaginary swimmer for that brand it might not fit quite right and you may have to try another brand.
It's up to you what feels right and how you want to wear it, if you don't like Speedos try Arena.
