Guys. Guess that the recent post 'package size' might influence your answer here. What style of suit do you prefer?
As mentioned in other posts I started off at school with discovering light weight fabric speedo suits where the allowance of a bulge and being able to show that I was male made me happy. Though discovering that very brief bikini my friend lent me made me appreciate briefer suits especially for sunning. I have a lovely story about finding a very brief new style speedo made suit in Jersey, Channel isles which I will share in the relevant place. Pushing the brevity further to string side micro bikinis gave me a good feeling though female friends, ex and current wives disliked. So I'm now coming back to speedo sizes though still hanging in for minimal widths in suits. My wife is more accepting that she won't change me but prefers the tight mini Lycra shorts' cos it emphasises my thighs! I still love bikinis though!!

I'm more of a standard speedo cut guy. Though I prefer this trend towards 2" sides rather then 3". It's makes for a more low cut suit but is still fairly modest.

Bikini cut is nice if it snug and fits well. The problem is all to often they end up being to high in the hips rather then lower. This gives you that awful v look in the front and back where as you want it straight across from hip bone to hip bone.

I've been trying many different styles but can't pull if the bikini convincingly yet.

My son rocks the bikini cut though!!....lol

Very true on second para. - always my pet hate.
They can look so good and yet too often so wrong - the straight-line fit is essential for maximum effect.

I am more of a 2 inch cut. Speedo is a bit wider than I prefer, but I like the prints. I am really into Turbo and a few other specialty swim oriented brands. I like low cut on waist and hips. I also like Funky Trunk classic cut for times when a more conservative look is best.

I like the speedo style suit although I' m not crazy about the Speedo brand. And I know exactly what you mean about the bikini cut Turbofan. I have a white Greek Bikini which if worn the way it's intended, you get that v you talked about. If I lower the sides to my hips, it screws up the fit. The ones, I like the best are the 1.5 - 2" sides and very low cut in front, sitting below the hip bones. I agree that it is still a modest suit. And because of Turbofan's and STS's influence, I'm loving the Turbo and Nike fit and colors.

If it's straight line you guys want, have you tried the low cut narrow bikinis made by Kiniki? I have a few of them and they fit well without a V look. Very brief though. Last year my wife and I watched the Wimbledon final with a friend in her hot tub and I wore a black one and turquoise one separately of course! The girls are crazy for leopard print and my wife had a very small leopard bikini while our friend who has a fuller figure was in a leopard swimsuit. My wife freaked out a bit when she saw my bikini semi transparent though!! Very soft fabric on it which gave quite a bulge and left little to the imagination. I last wore them on business in Warsaw a couple of years ago at my hotel pool and nobody seem to bother though by the time I used the pool it was later and few people were around.

I like 1" bikinis best but I like a flat front and no countour pouch. Skimpy cut but more modest detail.

Never wear broader than 2" side suits and have started wearing a 1.5 " one. Does that count as a bikini? Certainly as brief as I intend to go.

which is the 'yes' and which is the 'no'? Again it becomes vulgar and obscene for men which massive bulges as it looks like some restless 'thing' trying to burst out especially when walking....

It's not about vulgarity and obscenity - red is better fit than white

With fine bodies like these pictures, it would be a shame not to show a little bulge detail...art not obscenity.

In general, I some bulge rather than have everything squeezed unnaturally and compressed. I am not a fan of the V look but I love the very low cut and somewhat narrow sides. I also like to see the seat more cut away narrow...if the cheeks are fit.

I agree that a cut away back is only good if you have firm buns. Low cut is definitely better if you have a bikini which has a tendency to become V shaped. I have a couple of suits with very narrow sides which can be stretched up and show a bulging V or remain low cut and straight across with minimal V. My preference is to point my package sideways rather than up when it becomes squashed. Sideways allows for movement. Though some suits become quite narrow.

The blue speedo made bikini I referred to in my original post was bought in Jersey in late 70s I think. I found it in a multi store of all places in a corner beside other swimwear. Couldn't believe it as I'd never seen anything so skimpy by speedo. It was made of a Lycra/spandex type fabric and was very stretchy. There were a number of panels to as two front to make up the pouch and they joined the main rear panel at the side which as only about 1.5cm wide. They had white and a pale royal blue colour. I so wanted a white pair but when I tried it on in the changing room with a semi hard on it was obviously a size small causing quite a bulge. My embarrassment was complete when the sales lady just came in and saw me. She was really good about it and suggested I try the size bigger which was the blue one. I really loved that suit and wore it many times on holidays for years after. Not sure what became of it though. My surprise was that it was officially speedo as I'd never seen anything like it or since then! Anybody else remember or had this suit?

Unlikely as no response when you first described it.

Btw, will we hear the lovely story of St Helier?
Any chance also of recalling a model or type name for the suit in order to pursue the quest with the Speedo Museum in Sydney?

I love the Speedo 1" Solar and Aussiebum Swish bikinis. They are really small, flattering, ride below the hip bones and have that straight across the hips cut. They make my butt and package look very nice.

I like both Suits to be honest... The red does fit a bit better but the white looks good too. I find that it becomes vulgar when you see someones winkie in too small of a suit in a odd position as if it will pop out at any time... Bulges are very nice and everyone should be proud of their manhood but don't go too far especially if you are out and about... I personally prefer bikinis as they are a nice blend of feeling sexy and still acceptable at the beach.... Plus I like Tiny sides but a full back as it stays put.

The suit in the first is a little too small.
The suit in the second pic is just about right.

Sorry been away. I can't remember the name of the blue suit, which I bought in st. Helier. It was a Lycra type material different from the usual speedo fabric and quite stretchy. Had a front seem and one seem either side more to the front than the sides. Lower cut that normal speedos and with sides about 1/2" wide. That's about all I can recal about it. One of the most comfortable suits I ever wore

A front seam creates a pouch giving more space for your bits that tend to be a little crushed in the smooth front of a Speedo design. This may account for the added comfort.
A front pouch need not be so large or heavily engineered so as to appear inappropriate to the casual viewer.

My bikinis are so skimpy they are barely legal on a public beach. All the hair had to go. The sides are about 1/8" elastic bands. The back is at most a half-back. They are thin, unlined, and probably don't weigh an ounce. I can conceal three of these micro mini-bikinis in my fist. I spent four hours on the beach last Sunday walking for miles in nothing but a tiny black one. I have one of each color except pink:

I'm right there with you. I can't do more than 3" or less than 1.5". more than 2" is too much, and I don't have the body to pull off less than 1.5"...skin too lose from my uneducated youth.

For years my favorite style was the No Pouch Brief from Parr of Arizona.

When I had worn out the two I had, I wasn't in Phoenix and couldn't find them on the Internet and have since settled on my new favorite, the 1.5 Classic Wonderjock from Aussiebum.

I think both of these would fit in the "bikini" category. Speedos are good too. I've never really gotten into wearing micros and thongs in public, though I've owned a few.

So true about the straight line. I love a 2" speedo-style, low on the hips, with just a bit of butt crack in the back. It's good for sunning, for showing off and for swim practices - versatile, and hot looking. I've got a few 2" Speedo-brand suits made in England from e-Bay. They hold up well in chlorine and look really good. At least, they FEEL really good. Have to leave the 'look' judgement to others.

Crawler, you are allowed to put on your 2" side Speedos and look in the mirror, both before and after you step into the shower. You are permitted to decide that you look good. What other's think is less important than how you feel about wearing Speedos, enjoy the experience !

Crawler - as always, Torchwatch is right on. Part of the fun of wearing a low cut speedo is being able to admire yourself in it. So go ahead and do that and enjoy it.

This is the trend I dislike the most. I rarely find a pouch that fits well. I prefer a flat front. If you put it on when you are cold your bits stay snug and dont give you any funny business...

The red suit is a little briefer and fits much more snugly, thus giving slightly better outline and definition than the white one, as that's the look I like to wear I'd have to pick the red one! :-) That said, of the suits I own that offer more coverage than the white one, I NEVER wear them, the white suit would be the absolute maximum I would wear. Yes it shows that I'm a man, I'm proud of that and never want to hide it, however, I feel it offers more than enough coverage for any family environment.
On the whole the majority of my suits are a LOT smaller than even the red one! Guess I just love to show off!

Cheers Paul

The best ones I've found are on e-bay - ebabee6464 - this trader does mainly gorgeous panties, but also tiny swimsuits. I have several which are just enough to cover the front and just a spaghetti string around the sides and between the bum cheeks. As tiny as they can possibly get, and you really feel as if you've got nothing on but in UK are strictly legal.
Great as long as you have body confidence and a nice bubble bottom. I love walking along the beach in these, and one day will get someone to take some photos.

I usually opt for a micro suit or less. My micros have very low rise pouch front, 1/2 inch sides, and 4 inch back. At times I wear a thong or g-string. My G-strings are M55 skinzwear.

The M55 is about as micro as you can get.
Ever tried a teardrop front which is probably the only way you could go smaller?

I like bikinis most of all with about 3/4 seat coverage and a 1 inch side so the Snyder range and Kiniki Andre is ideal ... I’m talking here for a uk pool .
In different settngs I like to experiment with thongs on a Spanish beach or even fairly quiet uk beach . Round a European pool I will go down to half seats and string sides . My latest muscleskins order arrived from USA to uk in about 6 days very impressive and I ordered a variety of suits with sports to lean seats . If I’m going to wear in a uk pool maybe I need to get bigger than lean seat as the 3/4 inch sides are quite attention grabbing anyway . Maybe be next time a very slightly wider side maybe an inch but in a bright colour

Would like to see your suits. I love muscleskins bikinis. I have two of these : one with 3/8" side and lean back, one with 3/4" side and athletic/lean back. But I think it is too much for public pool. I plan to order a 1 inch side with drawstring and athletic back for this purpose. Will show you of course. My preference is clearly in micro briefs. At the beach I wear Kiniki tan through micro briefs, which I own in many patterns.

To make it easy for everyone, apply the same rule for club clothes.
1 only pull suits you love
2 YOU HAVE TO TRY THEM ON
3. YOU CAN NEVER TRUST A CHANGING ROOMS MIRROR, SO

WHILE TRYING ANY SUIT ON YOU LIKED ON THE RACK

ASK ID IT WAY TOO SMALL, TOO TIGHT, AND OR TOO SHORT.

IF "YES" TO AT LEAST 2, FORGET HOW YOU FEEL .. AND BUY IT ASAP.

Not a joke. 👙🩲 Works. Every time.
Apart from the nice tight feel, surprisingly (NIT) YOU AUTOMATICALLY LOOK LIKE YOU ARE FILLING/OVERFILLING YOUR BULGE THAT'S REAL.

My Mategear flat-front suits always start out too small and too tight, but "break in" after a few wearings and are always the smallest on the beach. I love the tight feel and flat look. Add bright colors like this Iswim suit, too.
