when they ought to be all in hot speedos ..enjoying the beach.

I was reading an article about the war going on, came across a picture of a cute solider holding a handgun. He would great in a hot pair of speedos, yet he's in the midst of war

Where is America when you need them? Oh, forgot, we have a knucklehead president that doesn't know his ass from his face.

You sure plumb the depths of stupidity and bad taste with such a post on Syria Joe.
This cute soldier is highly likely to be dead by now and since when does an automatic rifle become a handgun?
Was your reading of the article extensive enough to explain why Assad remains in power in what is becoming a never-ending civil war ?

Let's just hope he is safe and well. Let's not turn this board into a political bitch board for the right or left of America. I could care less what you think of President Obama, it does not belong here. Let's stick to swimwear.

For the folks not from USA, right generally refers to highly conservative and left refers to highly liberal.

Byron-- You know as well I as I do, the world looks to America to take care of conflicts such as these around the world. But since we have a President in office who does not care about human life being lost at the rate that it is, it's sad to see tragedy against an innocent group of civilians.

I'd rather see them on a beach...enjoying themselves rather than be covered in blood.

Agree with last line but he has to be very careful where he treads in this century and remember the Cold War was never really over.
Crimea could still escalate and crafty Mr Putin is playing a very clever and seemingly peaceful* game so far (his ballot papers are printed for the citizens to vote but the outcome of the referendum will not be recognised by the UK and the USA anyway).
He no doubt wishes to avenge the shame imposed on the Czar by France and Britain in 1854 and they have long memories over there. By rights Russia should have removed its Black Sea fleet upon Ukranian independence twenty years ago of course.

*Did a certain Adolf Hitler not also once tell us that his military mission in Europe was no more than to protect the Germans of the Sudetenland?

This post string is messed up. How do the last posts have anything to do with the first? The first posts don't belong here and the last couple are a whole new topic.

Yes, it can be annoying - I think I have made much the same point in the past but do not recall your support (far from it).
However, the last three posts comply with requests made and I quote:
"let's stick to swimwear" (yourself) and "do chat about speedos" (Louis).

If the topic of Syria has been deliberately diverted to assuage strong feelings
and acknowledge reprimands on inappropriate postings in this particular case, that sounds to me like something to be applauded and not condemned.

Btw, anything to offer to alleviate the pain of my curiosity about three unrecognised badges as shown on some "swimwear" and "speedos"?

Historical PS: Having consulted the dictionary on "forum" I have read "..... a place of public discussion....." and
"I don't care what you think" (another quote) would surely have been considered by the senators of Rome as an unhelpful contribution to their deliberations ?
